We were invited to a friends pool party recently and I offered to bring something. I don’t often make desserts at home anymore. Simply because if I did, we would eat them! I have a terrible sweet tooth and though Bill pretends to not be interested most of the time in the goodies, he always manages to indulge if there is something sweet around the house. Years ago I baked often. We were also a lot chunkier and we’re working on trying to keep that to a minimum, so I usually just say no. I looked around my pantry to see what I had on hand and got busy creating something to share at the party. I decided to prepared these bars the day before, in fear I may need to run to the store and pick something up from a bakery, should they not turn out! Fortunately, the execution of my ingredients worked! These turned out sweet and chewy with a nice crisp crunch. Ingredients:
Graham Crackers
Softened Butter
Chewy center layer:
1 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1/2 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Coconut
3 Hershey Milk Chocolate bars
1/4 Cup Butterscotch Chips (because this is all Andrew left in the package)
Frosting:
1/2 Cup Melted Butter
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Cups Powdered Sugar
3 Tablespoons 1/2 & 1/2
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
Smear butter onto a cookie sheet or large cake pan and line with a layer of graham crackers herunterladen.
