Pork Spare Ribs

Spare ribs (also side ribs or spareribs) are a variety of pork ribs or beef ribs, cooked and eaten in various cuisines around the world.  They are the most inexpensive cut of pork and beef ribs; and my family loves either type Christmas for free. Ingredients: 

Pork Spare Ribs

Dry Rub:
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
2 Tablespoons Paprika
1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon Garlic granulated
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1 Tablespoon Parsley
1 teaspoon Cayenne
1 teaspoon Cumin
Salt & Pepper, to taste

If you are cooking the ribs for a long time, some say that removing the membrane is unnecessary; but I usually do anyways navcore downloaden.  Then cut the ribs and coat them evenly with the dry rub.

Chinese Egg Rolls

Egg Rolls are one of our favorites!  In American Chinese cuisine, an egg roll is a savory dish typically served as an appetizer. It is similar in concept to what is commonly known as Spring roll in Asia but is made with flour dough wrap instead of the rice and is fried or baked resulting in a crispy product download zoom file.  Egg rolls are usually stuffed with pork, shrimp, or chicken, (or a combination of all; like mine) adding cabbage, carrots, and other vegetables, and then fried download royalty-free images.

This recipe makes a pretty good sized batch, but that’s no problem since I’ve found that they freeze nicely.  Simply freeze leftovers in airtight containers and reheat them in the oven or toaster oven download access database.  I prefer them served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce!

Ingredients:

Egg roll Wraps (I used 18 oz download peggo app. Twin Dragon)
1/2 lb Pork, ground
1 Chicken Breast, ground or chopped fine
8 Jumbo Shrimp, cooked and chopped
2 Tablespoons Fresh Ginger, grated fine
2 Garlic Cloves, pressed
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
1- 2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 – 2 Tablespoons 5 Spice
Salt & Pepper, to taste
1 (16 ounce) bag shredded cabbage and carrot coleslaw mix ( not quite the whole bag)
2 Green Onions, chopped fine
1 Egg, beaten with a dash of Water
Sunflower Oil (for frying)

Preparing the egg rolls is basically very similar to the method you’d use to wrap a burrito. Just add a thin layer of egg wash to the top to make sure it stays sealed.  Start by laying the wraps in front of you so that it looks like a diamond.  Place about three or four tablespoons of the filling mixture into the center of egg roll wrapper.

Fold the bottom point up over filling and roll upward as tight as you can.  Then fold in both the right and left points and brush top point with a little egg before finishing rolling.  Set aside; lining them up on a lightly floured surface and repeat continuing the assembling until you run out of ingredients.

You can use a deep fryer, but I prefer to pan fry.  Heat the oil to 325 degrees.  You don’t need much; just enough so that you can crisp up the egg rolls.  Carefully place a single layer of egg rolls into the oil, and fry them, turning often until all sides are cooked and lightly golden brown.

Be sure to keep turning them; moving on all sides to make sure they fry evenly.  I use a tongs to hold the rolls and brown the ends too.

Set aside on paper towels to absorb any access oil.  Serve warm with your preferred dipping sauce!

Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Bill and I both love pizza, but we just don’t eat it as often as we would like!  We do enjoy the chicken Alfredo type from the local take out, but it’s usually soggy with way too much sauce and cheese.  I usually end up with a belly ache and it’s not worth it because you can’t even taste the crust!    More often we will prepare pizza at home and the key is to use delicious dough download amazon app 10 euro.  Making it from scratch is a bit of a process, which for me eliminates spontaneity for dinner most nights.   I do love Trader Joe’s Pizza Dough, which they sell for around a dollar and a half for a 16 ounce “bag ‘o dough”.  It is offered in the refrigerated section in Regular, Whole Wheat, and Garlic & Herb varieties and are made fresh daily.  I like the regular and the garlic herb over the wheat, which can be tough and buy both depending on what flavor profile we’re looking for Download the navigation app.  We prefer really thin pizza, so I think that one bag of dough is too big for one single pizza, but believe that it would probably make two nice 12″ or so round pizzas.

Their pizza dough also freezes really well! Ingredients:

4 oz. Brie Cheese, I use St. André 
4 oz. Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
1/2 Cup Parmesan
1 Garlic Clove, pressed
Dash Hot Sauce
2 boneless chicken breast halves, roasted and shredded 
1/2 Onion, sliced and caramelized

Mushrooms, sauteed
Red Peppers, roasted and sliced
2 oz. Mozzarella Cheese, sliced
2 oz. Italian Cheese Blend, shredded

Zucchini Bites

Ingredients:

Onion Stuffed Mushrooms with Potatoes

You know I like to use up what I have on hand and re purpose ingredients that I don’t want to see go to waste!  When I was hosting the gals recently for our Monday night show, I came up with these stuffed mushrooms fleetboard herunterladen!  I love mushrooms.  Bill, not so much although I keep slipping them into dishes without him noticing.  He has eaten the “filling” to many of my “shrooms” microsoft excel chip kostenlos.  He doesn’t care for the texture, but also doesn’t pay much attention that they contain the stem; just all chopped up!

Mushrooms, though classified as vegetables in the food world, are not technically plants herunterladen. Ingredients: 

12 or so Mushrooms, Baby Bello’s or White Button
1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Cup or so French Onion Soup (or sauteed onions and beef stock)
2/3 Cup Mashed Potatoes
1 Cup Gruyère Cheese, shredded
Salt & Pepper, to taste

Combine the leftover mashed potatoes to the onion, mushroom mixture and season with salt and pepper.  Turn off heat and mix in about half of the shredded cheese.

Allow to cool slightly and place in a zip lock baggie.  Cut the corner to use as a piping bag.

Drizzle a baking dish with about a tablespoon olive oil, or use non stick cooking spray to coat. Squeeze the filling into the mushroom cavities and arrange closely, cavity side up.  Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the filling in each mushroom.  Bake uncovered until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is heated through, about 25 minutes.  Serve warm!
