Lobster Tail

Lobster tails are a rich and filling entree, especially when served alongside steak.  Every once in a while, I make lobster tails at home for a special meal and this happened to be our New Years “Surf & Turf” celebration!  Lobster is one of those foods that is frequently associated with a holiday like New Years or Valentine’s Day, and subsequently many stores will bring it in offering it on sale.  This beautiful one pound tail was found at our local Costco and was perfect for Bill and I to share along side of a tasty fillet of beef for a real treat on this special weekend.  People might assume that this is a tough dish to prepare, but it really isn’t.  The beauty of lobster, like so many good quality seafoods, is that a very simplistic preparation is often the best option to highlight the flavor of the meat.  I thought I would share some tips on how easy it is to prepare at home deutsch bücher herunterladen!

Ingredients:

Lobster Tails
1/3 Cup Sugar
1/2 Lemon, juiced
1/2 Lemon, rind
2 Tablespoons Butter, for cooking

Broccoli Chicken Hotdish – Lightened up

I’ve been trying to get more broccoli into our diet ever since Bill has opened up and has been more willing to try it!  It began when he started eating some of my cold salads, but I keep stretching it and am now adding it to other dishes, even without pureeing it like I used to do you can download keynote for free!  According to Forbes, Broccoli has a plethora of health benefits. It contains anti-inflammatory nutrients, antioxidant nutrients, detox-support nutrients, and anti-cancer nutrients among many other important chemicals that sustain the health of the human body.  Most important to me is that it is High In Fiberwhich helps to lower cholesterol.  I want to keep Bill around as long as possible so I’ll keep feeding it to him,!  Plus I love it!  I remember enjoying a broccoli cheese dish that one of my aunts made when I was a kid that was rich and creamy and topped with potato chips.  I have lightened up my version and though it wasn’t the same as aunt Sharron’s, it was still pretty tasty!  This dish is simple and has a nice combination of creaminess, a sweetness from the pop of the peas and great crunch from the crisp stuffing mix topping sciebo herunterladen.

Ingredients:

1 Chicken Breast, large
1/2 Onion, chopped
4 Cups Broccoli, chopped (I used frozen, but next time would use fresh!)
1 Cup Peas, frozen
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil (mine was infused with basil, but any will do)
1 Can Healthy Request Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt, plain
3/4 Cup Sour Cream, light
1/2 Cup each shredded Cheese: Asiago/Parmesan, Cheddar, Mozzarella
1 Tablespoon Garlic Salt
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 Package Stove Top Stuffing, prepared to box instructions

Saute the chopped onion in oil until somewhat translucent.  Add chopped, cubed chicken breast and season with salt & pepper.  Cook until chicken is no longer pink libreoffice deutsch herunterladen.

Asian Mushrooms

This is a simple and quick side dish or an appetizer.  I love Asian flavors and I love mushrooms, so why not combine the two?  You could assemble this with just about any of your favorite Asian flavors that you have on hand in your fridge or pantry.   The firm, earthy mushrooms taste great with the sweetness of the cooked carrots and hint of chives.  Bill won’t touch them so this dish was shared and went over well recently at our girls gathering!  The button mushroom, better known as a white mushroom or sometimes Agaricus bisporus is the most widely cultivated, harvested, and distributed mushroom in the world.  In the United States alone, an average person consumes over two pounds a year herunterladen. They are mildly flavored and can take on a lot of flavors.  The brown variety of the button mushroom is often found marketed as a crimini mushroom. Ingredients:

Blackened Shrimp

I was inspired to make this dish after watching Guy Fieri prepare a “blackened chicken” dish the other day.  I thought his dish sounded good, but decided to use some jumbo shrimp that I had on hand in the freezer and wanted to lighten up my dish as his was made with a lot of heavy cream.  I really like using large shrimp for a recipe like this so they won’t get lost within the pasta.  I’m sure you could change this up by adding additional vegetables, but this was a hit for Bill and I and it turned out delicious streams downloaden mac!

Ingredients:

16-18 Large Jumbo Shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 Onion, chopped fine
1 Tablespoon Butter
2 Tablespoon Oil, divided
4 Garlic Cloves, pressed

3/4 Cup Half & Half
1/3 Cup Fresh Basil
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese

Blackening Dry Rub, equal parts of each:
Salt
Pepper
Paprika
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Thyme
Oregano
Italian Seasoning
Parsley

Start by heating a cast iron skillet over very high heat (if you see smoke coming off the pan, you might think that’s hot enough create slideshow with music free chip. I used about a tablespoon of each ingredients to make the dry rub.  The rinsed shrimp was moist, but not sopping wet.  Add it to the dry mix, tossing and coating each shrimp evenly bloons td 5 kostenloser download.

Discard the rest of the spice and brown the shrimp in the hot skillet for about three minutes on each side.  I recommend a cast-iron skillet for this because it’s what Guy uses and it keeps the temperature very hot, while adding a nice grilled flavor to the dish herunterladen.

Remove the cooked shrimp and set aside.  Boil salted water for the pasta and cook only al dente according to the package directions.  Do not rinse download not possible try it later s3!

Reduce heat somewhat and use the butter and about a tablespoon of oil to clean up all of the bits at the bottom of the skillet.  Add the chopped onions and cook until they become soft and translucent.   Add the pressed garlic and cook for an additional two to four minutes.  By doing this, you’re infusing the onions in the oil with the garlic flavor and allowing the garlic to become soft and sweet typo herunterladen.

Add the entire can of tomatoes including the juice and add the fresh basil.  Cook for another four minutes or so before adding the fresh spinach.  Cover and allow the spinach to wilt.  Once wilted, I transferred the entire mixture into a larger, non stick skillet before adding the half & half amazon music music.

Reduce the heat and allow the cream to reduce somewhat, cooking an additional five minutes or so.

Taste and season with salt & pepper before spooning the pasta cooked shrimp back in the sauce mixture.  Toss gently and turn mixing all of the ingredients.

Turn off the heat, top with the cheese and cover.  Allow to sit for a few minutes so that the cheese can melt.

Plate and serve, turning the pasta into a nest.  Try to make sure the shrimp are evenly distributed!  This dish could easily serve four people.

Roasted Onions and Potato Halves

These are simple and delicious sides that I encourage you to give a try!  We just love the sweet, slow roasted goodness of the onions!  I store the extra in the fridge to use within other dishes, so prepare as many as you would like.  The potatoes get a nice crispy golden brown bottom with the insides soft and fluffy youtube downloaden op ps4!

Ingredients:

Russet Potatoes
Whole Onions
Oil
Salt & Pepper

Preheat the oven to 400.  Cut the onions and (washed) potatoes in half and season the unpeeled onions with salt and pepper blumenbilder zumen kostenlos.

Place cut side down onto on a baking sheet that has been drizzled with vegetable or olive oil.  Simply roast until the onion skins are deep golden brown and and the inner parts are very tender throughout.  The potatoes take about the same amount of time I want to download apache openoffice.   (I took advantage of the oven being on and also roasted some beets and garlic at the same time in foil along side.)  The onions are done when the bottoms, or cut side has turned golden brown and caramelized.  The potatoes will have a crispy, browned bottom and should be soft when pierced with a fork or sharp knife.  It usually takes 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size netflix auf ps4 filme downloaden.
