Roasted Red Pepper Chicken Bake

We’re always trying to create different dishes with chicken.  I was inspire to make this dish following a recent lunch outing at a place Bill and I tried in St windows 10 oem. Paul.  He actually ordered a chicken sandwich that included roasted red peppers.  It was very flavorful and delicious, but we don’t need the bun at home so we decided to recreate something similar while including many of the same flavors.  We both love peppers and once they are roasted, their flavor takes on a deep, sometimes smoky flavor that adds great dimension to a dish.  This recipe is easy and is moist and delicious thunderbird keine neuen nachrichten zum herunterladen!

Ingredients:

2 Red Peppers, roasted and peeled
2 Chicken Breasts, butterflied
2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise, I used light
1/3 Cup Panko Crumbs
1/3 Cup Flat Leaf Parsley, chopped

Salt & Pepper
1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded (or use a blend of Italian)

Leave the peppers over the flame, constantly monitoring and turning them with a tongs as necessary.  Listen for crackling noises, which indicates that the peppers are roasting.  Rotate each pepper until the skin has blackened in a certain area.  Keep turning them until the entire surface is black and don’t worry about the blackened color on the surface because the tender flesh underneath will be perfectly fine.  (don’t forget the ends!)

I had roasted beets and did not want to discard the flavorful juices, so I poured them around the sides of the chicken.  This can obviously be omitted if you are not roasting beets at the same time.  Sprinkle the mayo on each breast with the cheese, herb, crumb mixture.  Bake uncovered at 350 degrees into the oven on the center rack and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the middle of the breast reaches 160 degrees swr coffee or tee app.

Remove from oven and place the large slices of roasted, peeled red pepper on top of the browned Panko layer.  Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and place back into the oven for roughly five to ten more minutes, just until the cheese topping becomes browned and bubbly.  The peppers should be reheated through in this time as well herunterladen.

Fresh Basil Pesto

The Italians have birthright to this savory green sauce called Pesto, that is generally made with bits of basil, fresh garlic, salt & pepper, Parmesan cheese, Pine nuts and olive oil Download free coloring pages.  I find Pine nuts in bulk at Costco.
During the summer months, while my fresh Basil is in season, I harvest as much as possible and keep it for later use.  I simply remove the leaves and chop the basil while storing it in airtight zip log bags in the freezer.  Throughout the year, I then use the basil in all kinds of dishes.  Although the leaves turns a dark green color, the flavor remains fresh and rich for many months herunterladen. Although you could use fresh basil of course!  It is a good way to use it up in season and freeze the pesto for future use.
I’ve recently pulled out the AreoGarden (light) and planted “babies” again since a few of my fresh herbs plants have “seen their day” and I had to let them go.  Last week we were excited with the first glimpses of sprouts and new growth!  Since I have several new Basil plants started, along with two Thyme and a Dill plant, I figured it was time to use up a good portion of of the stored basil in the freezer.  I  did keep a small amount, because it is awesome to use in fresh pasta dishes, or to doctor up my favorite canned variety of pasta sauce lieder von soundclouden online.

Ingredients:
8 Cups Fresh Basil (mine was frozen)
1 Cup Roasted Pine Nuts, cooled
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
2 Cloves Garlic
Salt & Pepper
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (about 1 Cup, pour in and use to a consistency you like)

Place the garlic into food processor and pulse until fine.  (You can add more garlic if you prefer!) I think this is just enough.  Add the Parmesan cheese and pulse and grate until fine and then add the pine nuts and puree until pretty smooth audiodatei manuell herunterladen tiptoi.

I used a bit more Parmesan than this recipe reads, because the chunk of cheese I grated was larger than I would have normally used applike herunterladen. There are no real rules for making pesto, but as long as you make it fresh and use the best ingredients, it’ll always taste superb.  Pesto is delicious as a sandwich spread and as a layer in any appetizer dip.  It adds flavor to sauces and soups.  You can spread it on any thin cut of meat or fish, then coat with bread crumbs and for a quick and tasty dish.  You can mix it into mayonnaise which then makes a fabulous salad dressing and it is particularly good in pasta salads.  You may wish to stir it directly onto hot pasta for a savory side dish!  One might choose to mix it with cream cheese and use as a filler, or simply stir it into rice or mashed potatoes.  It is very versatile herunterladen!
Store in the fridge.  Adding a bit of oil on top helps it last longer.  You can also use airtight containers and/or ice cube trays to make smaller portions herunterladen.

Sausage Bread

Several years ago, while visiting our friend Kevin out in California, we prepared “Sausage Bread” together for a snack with our wine!  He and his family had been cooking it for years and had found the original recipe in an old “Vincent Price” cook book.  I have prepared the bread numerous times and base this recipe completely on memory as I’m not sure if this is what was in that old original!  I’ve changed it up from time to time and this time prepared some with a “mild breakfast sausage” that I prefer, as well as another loaf with a “hot Italian” variety, which is what Bill prefers download android files!

This dish is not difficult to prepare!  It is always a hit and though we rarely have left overs, we have even made the slices into a second time around meal by reheating them on a pizza stone, adding pizza sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, and what vegetables you like such as onions or peppers and then baking them into little pizza bites friseur spiele kostenlos downloaden!

When preparing the bread, you need to consider that the frozen dough needs time to thaw.  I typically put the frozen dough in the fridge and allow the dough to rise until nearly doubled and then finish the bread recipe the next day herunterladen.

Ingredients:

2 Loaf’s Frozen White Bread Dough, (1 pound each) thawed

1/2 Onion, chopped
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Garlic Cloves, pressed
2 Eggs (Egg Beaters work well), plus egg wash
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese

Salt & Pepper
Fresh Herbs or Dry Italian Seasoning, or Red Pepper Flakes, if desired
Flour, for rolling dough

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Meanwhile, cook the chopped onion in a couple tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium heat die sims deutsch kostenlosen. No worries if the bread isn’t perfect shaped!  Allow the bread to rest for about 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.  To serve, slice the bread into your desired thickness (I do about an inch thick) and serve warm.  This is also good at room temperature!

Decadent Pleasure Chocolate Brownies!

I think one of my most favorite things in the world to indulge on, would be a thick, rich chocolate brownie!  Ahhh, served warm and with a dollop of fresh vanilla ice cream, gently melting and oozing down the sides of the gooey rich chocolate… Download staroffice for free. my mouth is watering right now as I would love enjoy a piece of pleasure eating one now! 

When I was younger and a baker (and a lot heavier) I used to make brownies and other sweets from scratch often.  I got to thinking about a desert course for our December Beau Vigne Wine Dinner and decided I had to share these delicious treats with our guests!  I used to follow a scratch recipe out of an old church cookbook that was a gift I received as a wedding gift nearly 30 years ago!  since I hadn’t baked scratch brownies since I’ve moved from my last house over 14 years ago… thor herunterladen. I opened that old cookbook and couldn’t remember which recipe it was!  There were a number of different recipes to choose from and a number of pages were soiled from heavy use.  I ended up guessing and tried one that turned out “fluffy” and with a “cake” texture, which is not what I was looking for.  I then looked to see what I had on hand in the pantry and judging off a number of the recipes in the book created these based off of some of the ingredients.  Second time was the charm!  These were absolutely delicious and worthy of serving at our dinner netflix filme auf windows herunterladen!

The most common size cake pan is 9 X 13.  The one I used is slightly larger and we ended up having left overs.  (The image was a day following the party, because I got too busy serving to snap a photo of the fifth course!)

Ingredients:

1 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Cocoa
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips (semi sweet)
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
5 Eggs
2 Tablespoons Vanilla
1 3/4 Cup Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

Start by melting the butter, shortening, cocoa powder and chocolate chips in a sauce pan over medium low heat at netflix mac.

Combine sugars and mix into the melted ingredients.  Slightly beat the eggs with the vanilla and add to the mixture.

Mix in the flour and baking powder.  Pour into a butter greased cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes activex download for free. Allow to cool before cutting.

We served these with homemade Vanilla Ice Cream (similar to this cinnamon recipe, omitting the cinnamon.) I made four batches and used an old ice cream bucket to store it until the event zdf app videos download.

Potato Strudel Phyllo Squares

These Potato Strudel Squares were serves as part of the third course of our December beau Vigne Wine Dinner.  They include mashed Yukon potatoes, Ricotta cheese, crispy Pancetta, caramelized Onions layered in a Phyllo Pastry.    They paired deliciously with the small pork bites with tomato chutney and the 2010 Juliet Cabernet Sauvignon!  This dish is easy to make and is good served fresh out of the oven or at room temperature like we did for our dinner course, though Bill and I would prefer this dish served warmer türkische alben kostenlos downloaden!

Ingredients:

4 Cups Yukon Potaotes, cooked and mashed
2/3 Cup Heavy Cream (used in mashed potatoes)
1 package Ricotta Cheese
2 Tablespoons Butter
3 Tablespoons Oil

Boil potatoes and then combine the potatoes, spinach, cream, chopped thyme and ricotta cheese mixing gently until soft and creamy.  Pour the mixture gently into the pan spreading evenly on the Phyllo sheets.  Spread the cooked onions evenly across the potatoes and sprinkle with the crispy Pancetta herunterladen.   Sprinkle with salt & Pepper.
