Crepe’s

I remember choosing Crepe’s off of the menu while eating out as a family while growing up.  They were usually filled and topped with wonderful, thick fruit filling that was like a cherry, blueberry or strawberry pie internet explorer! Crepe’s are very easy to make.  They are made by pouring a thin liquid batter onto a hot frying pan, with a trace of butter and cooking spray on the pan’s surface apple bücher herunterladen. Crepe’s can be made ahead of time and the batter stored in the fridge (in an airtight container, up to 1 day.  Be sure to whisk well before using) but since we only treat ourselves once in a while, I made a half batch (this recipe) which makes 5 large sized crepes.  Two for me… three for Bill background images for free!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Flour
1 Tablespoon Sugar (or sweetener)
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup 1/2 & 1/2
1/4 Cup Skim Milk
2 Eggs
1 Tablespoon melted Butter

I have made these with all milk and used egg beaters, but since I had half and half and most recipies ask for heavy cream – I made a healthy compromise and used half and half and skim milk.  I also used a hand mixer on high, but you could use a blender.  Either way you want a smooth crepe batter that has the consistency of heavy cream so you may need to add a tad more flour herunterladen.

First combine flour, sugar, salt, milk, eggs, and melted butter.

Puree or blend until mixture is smooth and bubbles form on top, about 30 seconds to a minute elba app downloaden. Let batter sit for about 10-15 minutes at room temperature while you cut up your other ingredients.

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium and lightly coat with a dab of butter and non stick cooking spray star stable herbstritt kostenlos downloaden. Add about 1/3 cup batter and swirl to completely cover bottom of skillet. Cook over medium heat until underside of crepe is golden brown, roughly 2 to 3 minutes herunterladen.

Loosen edge of crepe with a rubber spatula, then with your fingertips gently and quickly flip over. Cook for about another minute more. Slide crepe out of skillet and repeat with remaining batter. (re-coat pan with butter and cooking spray as needed.)

Broccoli – Tofu Asian cold Salad by Eileen

I have talked about this wonderful Asian style salad that my friend Eileen shares.  Usually she picks it up at one of her favorite delis.  Recently though while visiting for our girls “smut TV” night (aka Bachelorette) she brought her own version of the salad and it was pretty darn good adobe photoshop elements 10 kostenlos!

Ingredients:

whole head of broccoli, steamed and blanched in the microwave
1 whole 14 ounce “brick” Firm tofu (next time I would try Extra Firm)
1 Tablespoon Ginger root
1  whole large lemon, juiced
1/3 Cup lite soy sauce
1/3 Cup water
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
fresh ground Black Pepper
dash of Salt

Asian Turkey Burgers

I came up with this recipe a few years ago when I wanted to incorporate some of my favorite flavors into a healthier version of a turkey burger.  It’s been a hit with a number of my friends and so this was one of the first dishes I ever actually “wrote down” and created a recipe so that others could enjoy!  It sounds different, but trust me with all of the textures and flavors it is a must try!  I hope you’ll love it too farm frenzy kostenlosen vollversion deutsch!

Ingredients:

1 lb ground Turkey
1 Large Onion
1 Tablespoon Teriyaki Sauce
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons light Brown sugar
1/2 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
3 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro
1 Garlic clove
1 small can – Mandarin oranges
1 Egg (I use egg beaters)
Salt & Pepper
1/2 cup sliced Toasted Almonds

Start by Sauteing onions until caramelized.  Allow to cool slightly while mixing together all other ingredients except oranges Download the electronic travel book for free.

Once everything is incorporated, gently mix in oranges by hand.  Meat mixture will be moist, so be prepared to make patties at the grill or they will mush and stick harry potter das spiel kostenlos downloaden.

BBQ Pork Sandwiches

I try to create dishes based on ingredients that I have on hand! I recently had some left over Pork Tenderloin, had a small part of a slab of restaurant dry-rubbed baby back pork ribs and decided they would be delicious transformed into easy barbeque sandwiches along some delicious Cole-slaw that my friend Mel had given me her recipe for!  You could create something like this with chicken or a combination of both herunterladen!

Ingredients:

1 large Sweet Onion
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 teaspoon Oil
2 Cups chopped cooked Pork Tenderloin
Meat pulled from a half a dozen or so BBQ Pork Ribs
3 Garlic cloves
1 1/2 Cups Chicken stock (I used homemade stored in the freezer)
1/3 Cup of your favorite store bought BBQ Sauce
Sat & Pepper

Dice onion into small pieces and saute in butter and oil over medium low heat until caramelized youtube videos online downloaden. Breakfast Egg Scramble

I like to have things that are quick and easy to grab in the mornings for breakfast.  There are many mornings where an English Muffin hits the spot, or some Greek Yogurt doctored up with fresh fruit.  Bill would prefer something hot most days and is usually “starving” after the morning work out!  I like to cook  up some egg scramble on the weekend so that he can have quick go and grab left overs heated in the microwave to create a muffin sandwich, or just eat along side.  I do splurge on some cheese now and again, but this is filled with vegetables and is prepared with egg beaters, so it’s actually pretty healthy!  You can mix this up by using just about any meat and/or veggie you’ve got on hand!  Add some fresh herbs that are in season and make it something special download thalia ebook.

Ingredients:

1/2 Onion (sweet)
1 teaspoon Butter
1 teaspoon Oil
2/3 Cup chopped Red, Yellow and Orange Peppers
1 Garlic clove
1/2 Cup chopped Deli Ham

1/3 Cup shredded cheese of your choice
Salt & Pepper

Start by sauteing the onions in the butter and oil until nearly translucent.   Add the chopped ham and allow to cook over medium high heat until it browns somewhat.  Add the garlic and peppers and cook for few minutes just until they start to become soft kostenlos counter strike source downloaden.
