Brined Pork Tenderloin

We were having friends over for a special vertical tasting.  I wanted to serve something different and Bill requested something on the grill.  After a quick look at what was in the freezer, I decided on pork tenderloin, potatoes and onions grilled in a foil pouch and a roasted sweet red, yellow and orange pepper salad.   I got to work the night before the dinner by roasting the peppers and preparing the Brine download eventim ticket.

I’ve brined meats in the past and it really makes your meat juicy and tender! Ingredients and Directions for Making the Brine:

2 Pork Tenderloins (they were packaged 2 per package at Costco, about 2 – 2.5 lbs each)
4 Cups Water
2/3 Cup Kosher Salt
2/3 Cup Sugar (I used Xylitol)
1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar

Combine ingredients and add the pork.  Place in the refrigerator and marinate for 2-3 hours.  Remove pork from the brine and dry it off with a paper towel.  Sprinkle tenderloin with Seasoning salt before grilling download nintendo 3ds for free.
Grill the pork on medium high heat (375 degrees) for about five minutes. Turn and repeat a couple of times to ensure nice browning and crusting on all sides the pork

Mexican Turkey Burgers

I’ve encouraged others to take the step to try ground turkey rather than ground beef, but I think it may be a misconception that it’s “healthier” Download itunes match music.    I’ve always heard that ground turkey is better for you, but after reading a couple of articles recently, I learned that ground turkey can be about the same as ground beef (or worse if you use the leanest ground beef).  What?? 

Beef burgers are loved by most people.  I’ve always heard that the problem with them is that they are very fattening.  This is because they are normally fried and beef is high in fat.  I also believed that turkey burgers are made from a much leaner meat which means that they are much less fattening… now I’m not so sure that what I’ve been buying is better! 

I learned from the Nutrition Diva that if you compare lean ground turkey with lean ground beef, both have the same amount of fat and calories.  Chicken and turkey are sometimes lower in fat than beef or pork amazon filme auf macbook herunterladen. When you have the highest quality turkey, it can be mixed with a variety of delicious ingredients to create moist and delicious burgers!

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey
1 Large Onions
1 Tablespoon Taco Seasoning
1 Egg (I use egg beaters)
2 Tablespoons Cilantro
½ Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
1/4 Cup Salsa (homemade)
1 Garlic clove
Salt & Pepper

French Green Beans with Almonds

French green beans make a wonderful side dish!  Recently, Bill  kept telling me that with all the fish and chicken that I have been incorporating into our diet that he had been craving shrimp and steak for weeks!  With the record warm temps we experienced a few weeks back in Minnesota, grilling was definitely a must do… Too bad it’ not very nice out today!  The weather man says it might even snow again tonight!  Yuk!   So I prepared him his meal on the barbeque and served them with these terrific fresh green beans herunterladen.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound of fresh Green Beans.  I love the French style from Costco die hütte film kostenlos!
1/2 Cup slivered Almonds
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1/2 Lemon, juiced
Salt & Pepper to taste

Place the beans in a saucepan and cover with water; Add about a tablespoon of salt and cook until crisp-tender.  (About five minutes or so.  I taste and wait until the “squeak” is gone)
Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium low heat, toast the almonds in butter until golden brown.  Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice and salt & pepper.  Drain the beans and toss them into the almond mixture.  Add oil and allow to cook on high while tossing and browning until evenly coated itunes fotos herunterladen.

Garlic Crustini’s

Crustini’s are on the menu a lot in our house! We prepare them in many different ways and serve them with what’s on hand.  I often grill the little slices of Baguette; bake them in the oven on a stone and even bake them in the toaster oven on a mini stone, which is how I’ve displayed these download mediathek filme!

Bill and I both really enjoyed this wine!  While enjoying the appetizer, it was tough to save a glass for our meal.

Roasted & Stuffed Bell Peppers

I was inspired to make this dish because I had about a cup and a half of left over steamed white rice after having Chinese take out.  I had a couple of green peppers on hand and this is a go-to dish we change up a bit and can eat over and over schlacht um mittelerde kostenlos downloaden vollversion.

Ingredients:
2 green peppers
1 1/2 Cups of cooked white rice

1/2 Onion
4 small yellow & orange peppers
2 Garlic Cloves

1/3 Cup of salsa
1/2 Cup fresh Spinach
1/4 Cup Parmesan cheese

1 Tablespoon of Italian seasoning
1 Can of Italian tomato sauce
